Painting | Porcelain Miniatures
Why is it that everything is cuter when it’s tiny? Students will learn how to grind paint and utilize basic brush strokes to create original miniature pieces as well as porcelain tiles. Using fragrant essential oils and mediums, you will discover the lost art of porcelain painting to create heirloom pieces. Learn more about the history of porcelain painting here.
As a teacher, this class brings me full circle. I first learned porcelain painting from Doris Richeson at Jenks Rest, Columbian Park in the 1970’s. Doris’ family generously donated her supplies to the Art Museum, and we get to be a part of her legacy! If your heart skips a beat, like mine did all those years ago when I heard about Doris’ class, follow your heart and begin this adventure! Baby steps will lead you to your own heirloom pieces.
