Rookwood Bowl
Laura Anne Fry | Medium: Ceramic
Laura Ann Fry painted a white chrysanthemum design, a favorite of hers, on this lovely bowl that is in the Art Museum’s permanent collection. Fry, a pioneering female artist, helped bring international fame to Cincinnati’s Rookwood Pottery. She eventually headed Purdue’s Art Department, which became a national leader in ceramics programs. And always, she was a booster for other women artists.
