The Art Museum of Greater Lafayette is hosting a movie night! On October 25th, we will be showing the “Exhibition on Screen” film Matisse from MOMA and Tate Modern. This film goes behind the scenes of The Cut-Outs, an exhibition of work from the end of Matisse’s career, when he began ‘carving into color’, creating his signature cut-outs. Contributions to the film were made by curators, historians, and those who knew Matisse personally.
Our current East Gallery exhibiting artist Amy Kirchner will provide comments beginning at 6:30 PM about this period of Matisse’s work and how it relates to her large-scale abstract paintings. Join us for this educational screening, concessions, and an intimate experience with the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette!
